LASIK

Our surgeon, is one of the nation’s top surgical ophthalmologists who specialize in eye surgery and LASIK. The LASIK process involves several steps that begin with applying anesthetic eye drops to the eye. Next, a protective flap is created by our surgeon to access the inner corneal tissue. During this stage, the patient’s vision dims and becomes blurry for approximately one minute. Once the flap is created, the patient can see the flashing fixation light of the laser and the bright lights used during the procedure. Following this, the inner layers of the cornea receive computer-controlled pulses of cool laser light. An eye-tracking device ensures that the patient’s eye movements are accurately tracked for precise correction.

After reshaping the tissue, the LASIK surgeon repositions and aligns the flap to its original position. Protective shields are placed over the eye to prevent accidental rubbing while the flap naturally and securely heals over the next few hours. After the LASIK procedure, patients may experience mild discomfort and irritation for a few hours, but most feel comfortable after a nap and rest.

To ensure optimal results and patient safety, our centers offer bladeless LASIK, where the LASIK surgeon uses a gentle laser to create the corneal flap instead of using blades. This technology allows for better customization of the corneal flap for each patient, with the added benefit of no blades being used in the procedure. We understand the importance of your eyes and offer this advanced option to give you peace of mind during your LASIK surgery
