ICL

ICL

The ICL procedure is a minimally invasive method of implanting a lens through a small opening, resulting in a speedy recovery time. With millions of successful procedures performed globally, the Visian ICL has become a popular vision correction option.

Individuals with high glasses or contact lens prescriptions are excellent candidates for ICL. This procedure provides crisp and clear vision, without halos or glare. Ideally, patients are between 21 and 45 years old, since presbyopia and cataracts tend to develop later in life and can affect visual acuity.

One of the advantages of ICL is that it provides an increased level of vision correction up to -20 D. Additionally, there is a toric version available for individuals with astigmatism. Unlike LASIK and PRK, ICL has minimal corneal requirements, making it a viable option even for those with thin corneas.

If you have high myopia, abnormal corneas, keratoconus, or dry eyes, ICL may be an excellent choice over laser vision correction.  ICL lenses also offer ultraviolet protection to the inner eye, and their implantation is reversible. While most patients do not require lens removal, having the option available can provide peace of mind. The procedure is simple to perform and can be easily reversed if necessary.
